The genesis of the Club Room, a not-for-profit live music venue, came from the MadHatters Ball charity event in 1997. The original venue was located at The Crooked Billet and played host to an increasing number of local and visiting American blues musicians such as U.P.Wilson, Bob Kirkpatrick, Eric Bibb, The Texas Rhythm Kings and Paul Orta & the Kingpins amongst other notables. The venue outgrew, due to increasing public support, these surroundings and until September 2005 had been located at the Ship Public House

The ideology and philosophy behind the Club Room remains to provide a local environment featuring quality proponents of blues, rhythm and blues and 'roots' music.

We hope you enjoy and thank you for visiting the site.
